She's finally here! And boy, have I been waiting for this day...

Originally my boat would have arrived in May. However during the Boot Show in Dusseldorf earlier this year we had decided to introduce a Flexiteek deck as an option for the SC20. Adding this option required us to build a new mold and restructure parts of the boat to avoid any weight disadvantage. This process caused my boat to arrive later, but the advantage is that now all the SC20's, with or without the heavier Flexiteek deck, will still have the exact same weight and can race in the One Design races. Having seen how the Scandinavian Cruiser 20 looks with the Flexiteek deck, I can only say that she looks stunning. To me this is a perfect fit for the design of the boat and it really adds to her appeal.

Yesterday morning my SC20 was delivered at the McMichael's Boat Yard in Mamaroneck, NY. Patty, Guus and their crew did a great job in helping me unpack the boat and putting her on the trailer. Thank you so much for your help! The new shipping cradle has really paid off since the boat has arrived completely undamaged. Right now (Friday morning) she is sitting in my driveway and I'm going to rig her this morning and will hopefully be sailing well before noon. She'll need to be ready as I have an appointment with Aaron from Bloomberg Markets to test sail the SC20 for their magazine this afternoon. The weather is beautiful and we should have a nice northerly breeze so it should be a great day. I'll let you know how it all went and will post more pictures later today.
